Zachary K. Segal, MD
Dr. Zachary Segal is the Medical Director of Med Eye Associates. Dr. Segal is a Miami native who graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed his internship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York and his ophthalmology residency at the Georgetown/ Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC. Dr. Segal spent two years at the University of Alabama in Birmingham completing an extensive vitreoretinal surgical fellowship.
Dr. Segal has earned numerous awards for his excellence in research and patient care including the J.G. Davis Research Award. He has given numerous presentations at national retina meetings as well as authored several publications devoted to retina research. Dr. Segal is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and provides the most sophisticated surgical and medical retina care for all of his patients. His practice serves as a research site for several national studies. He is a leader in the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular surgery, retinal detachment surgery, and ocular trauma. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Florida Medical Association, and American Society of Retina Specialists.
