Post-LASIK Complications

A complication can arise after LASIK eye surgery called corneal ectasia. Corneal ectasia is described as the progressive thinning of the cornea, and can be seen in patients months to years after having LASIK. The thinning of the cornea can lead to blurry vision and the need of a corneal transplant. If detected early enough, progression of corneal thinning and the prevention of a corneal transplant can be achieved through Corneal Cross-Linking. Our physicians at MedEye Associates can help correct this potentially sight threatening problem.
