Harish Raja, MD
Dr. Harish Raja is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery.
Born and raised in Englewood, Florida, Dr. Raja graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University and received his medical degree from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed an internship in internal medicine and a surgical residency in ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Dr. Raja is dual fellowship trained. He completed a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at UC San Diego Shiley Eye Institute and spent an additional year gaining advanced training in laser cataract surgery and laser vision correction at Boston Eye Group/Boston Laser before entering private practice in the North Shore of Massachusetts where he also held associate staff privileges at Harvard’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Institute.
His clinical interests include LASIK, PRK, implantable contact lenses (ICL), traditional and laser cataract surgery, corneal transplantation (DSO, DMEK, DSAEK, and PK), corneal cross linking, pterygium surgery, and dry eye management including in office procedures such as BlephEx. He also practices comprehensive ophthalmology including non-surgical glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration and other routine conditions.
Dr. Raja is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and has given talks at both national and international meetings.
