The late, A. James Segal, MD

Dr. A. James Segal is the founder of Med Eye Associates. After completing his ophthalmology training and serving aschief resident at Washington Hospital Center and National Medical Center in Washington, DC, he began providing quality care for Dade County patients in 1975. Dr. Segal is a recognized leader in the ophthalmology community and is considered one of South Florida’s experts in refractive, cornea, and cataract surgery. He completed his undergraduate work at Brown University and earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland in 1969. Dr. Segal is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and he is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons. He also is trained in and performs oculoplastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic procedures. His other professional memberships include: Society of Implant Surgeons, Society of Refractive Surgeons and the Pan American Society of Ophthalmologists.
